If you saw the movie – or even the trailer – for Top Gun 2, you also saw one of Sydor Optic’s contribution to our defense forces for over 20 years in a supporting role, the heads-up display (HUD). The F/A-18 Hornet’s HUD is designed to give the pilot the critical flight information they need at-a-glance without having to continuously shift their focus from instruments to outside the aircraft and back. Valuable information such as flight data, navigation data, targeting data, weapons system status and sensor data can be displayed based on the specific mode the display is set on.
